SÜDSTÄRKE GmbH operates the two Bavarian potato starch factories, Schrobenhausen and Sünching.
These two plants are the southernmost potato starch factories in Europe.
SÜDSTÄRKE GmbH's line of business is the production and distribution of potato starch and a variety of starch derivatives for a wide range of applications. The by-products of starch production are potato protein, potato pulp and potato protein liquid (PPL).
The principal owners of the company are a group of more than 1.750 farmers organised into a co-operative, representing a potato cultivation area of 16.000 ha. These farmers supply the two plants with the required raw materials.
